Great White Egret
Great White Egret fishing on the canal at Saltaire as seen by Paul Marfell
The Great White Egret, first reported on the 20th July on the river in Myrtle Park, was only the fourth sighting of this attractive species in our Group area.  The first ever visitor was at Otley Wetland Nature Reserve on 17th April 2008.  A bird seen at Warley Moor Reservoir on 18th October 2017, was the second record and this was followed by a remarkable group of four which passed Oxenhope Watchpoint (only two miles away) on 1st November 2017.

More photos of the Great White Egret can be seen on Paul Marfell's daily blog      http://www.marfell.me.uk/wordpress/great-white-egret/
