Apperley Bridge/Esholt - 3 Grey Wagtail, 3 Cormorant, Kingfisher plus a Dipper seen preening.

Glovershaw area - 2 Curlew, juv Wheatear, a few Stock Doves well outnumbered by Woodpigeons, Chiifchaffs calling among the bracken, Red Kite, Raven, flock of 30 Goldfinch, Swallows still feeding young at the farm, Barn Owl seen perched at the entrance of the box.

Crossflatts - House Martins still feeding young on nest. Yesterday, at 5 Rise locks, 3 Swifts hawking.

R Aire - Wagon Lane stretch - Little Egret, Cormorant plus on the rugby field 170 grazing Canadas!

Stockbridge Reserve - Browncap , 2 Cormorants circled above the site. After a few minutes, they returned accompanied by a Little Egret. All three birds landed & started preening before flying off.

Intake Gate/ Hawksworth Moor - single Wheatear, party of 7 Raven flying over very high and kronking as they went. Small Heath butterfly.

High Royd Scrape - 3 Mandarin ducklings, a Snipe, 2 House martin. Previous day, 30 Common Gull circling over the site.

Bradup/Whetstone area - 2 Whinchat, juv Little Owl, 2 juv Stonechat plus calling Stock Dove.

Hazlewood - the species, Little Owl appears to be doing well. The foto below sent by Roger Nelson.
Stockbridge Reserve ( BOG members only) - juvenile Great White Egret. Bird seen preening on the far side of lake. It then waded around the Reserve catching food.
