An afternoon near the reserve -
Three Goosander, a Little Grebe, two Kingfishers, two Kestrels, a Sparrowhawk, two Stock Doves, six Siskins, eight Redwings, two Goldcrests and various others including Nuthtach and Treecreeper

A big movement of Whooper Swans during the morning.  There were 50 over Marley in two skeins 11 at 11:49 am  and a further 39 at 11:52.

Shipley Glen
A Common Buzzard, sitting in trees and then feeding on the ground, was in a field amongst eight Grey Herons.  Other prominent species included four Nuthatch and six Jays.

A Great Grey Shrike, first seen at Hardisty Hill, Blubberhouses and reported on Bird Guides on the 2nd, was located once again as it flew south over the moor.
