Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - singing Chiff-Chaff, Little Egret, Snipe flushed, classic call of a Buzzard in tree behind hide proved to be a mimicking Jay!
Above Micklethwaite Village - single Raven.

Glovershaw
Up to 12 Snipe now present in the fields by Golcar Farm.  Lots of 'chunking' and display flights.  Up to 25 pairs of Lapwings in the same area.  Reed Buntings and Meadow Pipits have now returned to the moorland and Sky Larks are performing their aerial song.

Barden Bridge to Hazlewood - 36 species recorded including 3 Dipper, 3 Grey Wagtail, 5 Pied Wagtail, 3 pair of Mandarin, pair of Goosander, pair of Oystercatcher, Woodcock, Green Woodpecker (heard & seen), flock of 150 Fieldfare, 2-3000 Starling & a single Tree Sparrow. Curlew & Lapwing now on breeding grounds.

River Aire walk between Bingley & Saltaire - Kingfisher on Wagon Lane length, pairs of Grey Wagtail at Myrtle Park & Cottingley Road Bridge. Two Grey Heron flew over very high with one bird carrying a large twig.

A male Shoveler, a female Pochard, a pair of Great Crested Grebes, 25 Tufted Ducks, 13 Mute Swans were the pick of the birds on the tarn and a Red Kite was circling over the town.

A flock of about 25 Golden Plovers in the field along Glovershaw Lane, near the cattle grid.  Up at Dobrudden Farm, five Tree Sparrows on the feeders and in the hedges.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - filling the feeders after the snow soon brought in birds. We had 7 Reed Bunting, several Dunnock but also brought out the Water Rail into the open. It fed below the feeders from food droppings before a Moorhen saw it & chased it well away. 2 Cormorant & a Oystercatcher flew past.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - went down to fill the feeders when that evil wind was blowing. Behind one of the islands 10 Lapwing & 60 BHG had roosted after finding a spot in shelter. 6 Reed Buntings came to the feeders. Returned home (Bingley) & during the afternoon, a Sparrowhawk checked out my feeders & later a Fieldfare ,Song Thrush & Mistle Thrush searched for food.
