Lower Laithe Reservoir - 2 Shelduck

Fewston Reservoir - 36 Tufted Duck (only 6 females), mixed flock of finches feeding on Alders & on path where the seed had fallen. Make up est. 40 Siskin, 10 Redpoll, 5 Goldfinch. Buzzard & Red Kite also recorded.

Barden Scale - 3 Peregrine, Red Kites, Buzzards, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel

Private Wetlands (permit holders only) - 140 Wigeon, a few male Goldeneye, 20 Tufted Duck, 3 Oystercatchers, 3 Bullfinch, 2 Reed Bunting, a few winter thrushes flew by, small flocks of Siskin feeding on alders plus Buzzard & Red Kite seen.

Ben Rhydding Gravel Pits (Saturday record) - Little Egret harassed by one of three Red Kites. Also Woodcock flushed from undergrowth was a first record for the site.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - heard today Water Rail after a few blank weeks. Also a pair of Kestrel flew together above the riverbank. At the feeders, Reed Bunting, a couple of Siskin among the willows searching for ice free areas to drink. Bullfinch seen at different parts of the reserve. Two Cormorants circled before landing on the river.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - continuous rain did not put off the 58 Mallard on the water. There was much head bobbing & mating taking place. 4 Reed Buntings to the feeder. A Grey Heron stalked the bank on the far side & was rewarded by catching & eating a field vole. Cormorant briefly fished on the lake.

Shipley Glen
A walk around the Glen produced the following: 10 Grey Herons, four Nuthatch, 100+ Greylag Geese, 75+ Canada Geese also Mistle Thrush, Redwing, Jay and a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
