Goose Lane Hawksworth
The Little Egret seen feeding in this area yesterday was still there at 12:15pm.  It was in a field on the road between Hawksworth and Reva Reservoir (Goose Lane), by a cottage on the right, opposite the gates to Storth House Farm. Also two Red Kite in the area.

Yeadon Tarn - The birds present this morning included: 20 Goosander, 7 Great Crested Grebes, 16 Tufted Ducks, one Pochard, one male Goldeneye and nine Mute Swans.

This Grey Wagtail has been a regular visitor to John Arundel's garden in Yeadon.

Shipley Glen - 10 Grey Herons were at a roost in the bottom of the Glen, a Grey Wagtail on the beck and four Nuthatch were watched.  Along the Higher Coach Road: 50+ Greylags and 30+ Canada Geese and 6 Redwings.  At the bottom of Lucy Hall Drive a flock of 32 Goldfinches settled.

Shipley Glen - A skein of about 150 Pink-footed Geese flew over from east to west at about 11:30am.  A female Stonechat was flitting about the dead grasses at the side of the main car park, a mobile flock of 40 Lapwings, 12 Fiedfare, a few Redwings and a Mistle Thrush were in the fields by Brackenhall.

Dowley Gap - Chiff-Chaff at the sewage works plus 2 Little Grebes on river there.
Dipper on river at Bingley & plenty of Goosanders between there and Saltaire.
35 Fieldfare on Beckfoot Lane, near the tennis courts.

Yeadon Tarn - There were 23 Tufted Ducks, three male Pochard, two female Goosander and 14 Mute Swans amongst the Mallards, Moorhens and Coots.  One or two of the Black-headed Gulls were developing breeding plumage.

Baildon Moor area - 130 Golden Plover between Hope Farm & the Moor plus 3 Grey Partridge, 12 Redwing. A pair of Stonechat situated close to 17th green.

There were 10 Grey Herons at roost, at the bottom of the Glen.  Other birds in the area included 15 Goldfinch, 12 Long-tailed Tit, two Godcrest, two Nuthatch and a fly past of 25 Canada Geese.

Royds Hall area - 36 species recorded including - 2 Goosander, Goldeneye, GCG,
2 Little Grebe, 25 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 4 Cormorant, Nuthatch & Kestrel.

Stockbridge Reserve ( members only) - Water Rail seen briefly (twice), Peregrine, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Siskin, plenty of Goldfinch everywhere, Reed Bunting.

Yeadon Tarn
The tarn was about half covered in ice but in the open areas the following birds were noted:
22 Tufted Ducks, four Pochards (three males and a female), seven Great Crested Grebes, 12 Mute Swans, Coots, Moorhens and a flock of about 50 Black-headed Gulls with a couple of Common Gulls.
