Glovershaw
An amazing amount of bird activity on the north side of Pennithorn Hill with seven different passerines feeding on the bracken and small trees.  Two Whinchats, an adult and a juvenile, and possibly two other juveniles were the pick of the birds.  At least six Stonechats, mostly juveniles, adult Common Whitethroat and Willow Warblers with their offspring were seen along with a family party of Reed Buntings.  A post-breeding flock of 15 to 20 Meadow Pipits came past,  half a dozen Swallows flashed by and a Skylark was flushed from the grass.
