Redcar Tarn, Keighley
A male Garganey, in eclipsed plumage was on the tarn this afternoon.

Birds at Lower Barden included:  Red Grouse (incl chicks), Oystercatcher, Lapwing, Golden Plover (heard only), Common Snipe (heard only), Curlew, Common Sandpiper (2), Lesser Black-backed Gull, Cuckoo (heard only), Sky Lark, Swallow, House Martin, Meadow Pipit, Stonechat (incl 2 males and 2 juvs), Ring Ouzel (prob 2 males seen very well, plus 1 fledgling seen and another fledgling heard calling), Mistle Thrush (incl 2 juvs), Willow Warbler, Linnet and Reed Bunting.  
Birds at Strid Wood included: Grey Heron, Goosander (6), Mandarin (up to 8), Common Sandpiper (2, plus a chick), Lesser Black-backed Gull, poss Yellow-legged Gull (lost behind trees), GS Woodpecker (heard only), Grey Wagtail (many incl juvs), Dipper (2 only), Redstart (just 1 singing male), Blackcap, Garden Warbler (2 heard only), Spotted Flycatcher (up to 4, incl pair building nest in tree stump by the path), Pied Flycatcher (approx 3 pairs, incl 1 fledgling seen), Nuthatch and Jay.
