A half hour in the Glen showed just how much pressure and stress breeding birds are under. A Sparrowhawk burst through the canopy and plucked a Chaffinch from its perch and a little later, a similar bird was harassing a pair of Mistle Thrushes. Elsewhere, a Jay, obviously up to no good, was being bombarded by Blue Tits, Great Tits and a couple of Blackbirds.
