As optimistic as a ................Moorhen!
Walk from Bingley to Saltaire along the River Aire, I found two sitting Moorhens. Both sites were on boulders smack in the middle of the river bed. Obviously rain is not expected.
Other birds - Dipper, pair of Grey Wagtails at Ireland Bridge, 3 of the same at Cottingley, female Goosander with 6 young, plus singing Chiff-Chaff & Blackcap.
Also - Comma Butterfly, Ringlets & Skippers
